June 13, French Creek Iron Tour, www.irontour.org, which is a bike event through beautiful northern Chester County for cyclists of all abilities families with kids in tow up to very experienced riders. There are seven routes which range from 10 to 100 miles. All rides start and end at the Kimberton Fairgrounds, and there are several rest stops along the routes, two of which are at the French Creek Elementary School and the North Coventry Elementary School. Wonderful food is provided for the riders at the rest stops and at the Fairgrounds. Last year there were 1000 riders; this year we are expecting around 1300, and well over 100 volunteers make it all possible. It is not only a great opportunity for fun physical exercise, but a time for families to spend together and to appreciate the treasures and history (iron furnaces) of the land around their homes
